It has the highest specific tensile strength of all the reinforced materials, and it has a high strength to weight ratio and low coefficient of thermal expansion. The density of carbon fibre is also vastly lower than the density of steel.

Carbon fibre takes the form of several thousand long, thin strands of material which are mostly composed of carbon atoms.

In the event of an accidental strike the force of the impact is distributed over the entire length of the boot and immediately deflected away from the horses Flexor Tendons and Suspensory Ligaments.
